What is a Wedding DJ?

You are asking yourself, what special skills does a wedding DJ need to have?

A wedding disc jockey has knowledge of timing and flow, we can help you determine your itinerary based on your needs.

You can feel good knowing we are behind the scenes taking care of little details so the day flows nicely - that way you can simply enjoy your day!

Sound requirements for ceremonies and speeches vary depending on room layout, indoor/outdoor, size, venue etc, we will provide the necessary equipment without overdoing it!

A wedding DJ will know the variety of music needed to please up to 5 generations of guests and will be able
to fit in appropriate requests. We are not trying to create a 'club' atmosphere.

our start

A & M Sounds is the longest running Disc Jockey business in Southwestern Ontario, with Adrian playing his first wedding in 1984.

We carry music from the 1940's to the very latest releases and we stock professional equipment to suit any location and event size.

Our DJ Services

At A & M Sounds we strive to set ourselves apart from the rest.
Here are a few ways we do this for our clients:

  • Our service and knowledge far exceeds the standard from start to finish - we pay attention to every little detail
  • We carry the highest quality professional equipment as well as back up equipment to all events - from Shure microphones to L.E.D. lighting for all your ambience needs
  • We have different sound systems so we can best match your venue and size of function
  • We set up before the first guest arrives so we can do a proper sound check
  • The attire for our disc-jockey's will accent the event. Our music is the focus. The only exception to the rule is if the event has a certain dress attire that they ask us to wear, i.e. Hawaiian, Caribbean, Red neck, specific theme, country, disco, 50's, 60's, etc.
  • No drinking of alcohol or smoking by our staff ensures a professional job every time!
  • A&M firmly believes in keeping the business small to help create a better atmosphere and connection with our clients and we believe you will agree - quality NOT quantity!
  • Our library of music is very extensive (over 30,000 at this time) and is accessible to you on the internet so you can browse most of our library at your leisure at www.multimusic.ca and we do accept requests.
  • If sound is required for a ceremony portion of the wedding we can supply a separate system along with proper microphones and windscreens to allow a smooth transition from the ceremony site to the reception area

We take pride in each and every event we do!

We really put our best into every event we provide sound/music for.

We have been taking care of clients the right way for 40 years, giving care to each and every detail.

We believe in personalized service and contact - whether that be face to face or over the phone. An email/text message just does not cut it in this industry - you want to be sure the 'fit' is a good one after all, the music is the finale to your special day and you deserve an encore ending!!

Here are some questions you should consider before you simply compare pricing from one company to another:

  1. How many years of hands on experience in the disc-jockey industry for the type of event you are inquiring about?
  2. How much knowledge do they have to help in organizing the day such as the itinerary and master of ceremonies?
  3. What kind of options do they have to create the best space and sound for your event?
  4. Can they provide you with last minute additions such as extra sound, ambiance lighting, wireless microphones or guidance to ensure a relaxed atmosphere?

This is one industry you must do your homework in before booking!!
